Mathew Storm
Full-Stack & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Django, React/Svelte, Rust)
About
I build and run cloud infrastructure end to end. I'm the solo founder of Storm Developments, where I designed and shipped a production S3-compatible object storage service on the open-source Garage engine. That work included quota enforcement, scoped and time-limited credentials, provisioning, billing integration, and the documentation and search built around it.
My core stack is Python and Django on the backend, TypeScript and React/Svelte on the frontend, and Rust for systems work. I've contributed upstream to Garage, the distributed object-storage project my product runs on. I also self-host and operate my own infrastructure, including Forgejo git hosting.
I work across the full stack, from architecture and backend through to frontend and deployment. My strongest work is in cloud and backend infrastructure: storage, APIs, provisioning, and the operational side of keeping services running in production.
I'm based in the Niagara region and focused on Canadian projects, with a particular interest in data sovereignty and keeping data under Canadian jurisdiction. If you need something built to actually work in production and stay maintainable after launch, that's the work I do best.
