Why choose freelance writing in Montreal

Ever walked through the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, soaking in the unique blend of European charm and North American hustle? That's what the freelance scene here is like—a melting pot of opportunities, each more inviting than the last. From tech startups needing copywriters to local magazines seeking feature stories, there's something for everyone.

And why freelance writing, you ask? Well, picture this: it's a sunny day, and instead of being cooped up in an office cubicle, you're tapping away at your laptop at a cafe near Mount Royal, espresso at hand. Ah, the perks of freelancing—flexibility, freedom, and the joy of being your own boss!

Essential skills needed for freelance writing

Before you put on your freelancer cape, let's talk about the utility belt of skills you'll need. First and foremost, you've got to be a wordsmith. Writing proficiency isn't just about good grammar; it's about the ability to convey ideas clearly and compellingly.

Research is your secret weapon. Remember, you're not just writing; you're informing or persuading your reader. So, get those facts straight!

Lastly, don't underestimate the power of networking. Think of it as the LinkedIn of real life. It's not just about who you know but who knows you. Your ability to establish connections can often be the golden ticket to high-paying gigs.
